Two kinds of help, one place to start

Some help comes from local people — providers here in Vero Beach we can point you to. Some comes from products your parent uses at home. This page explains both, honestly labelled, so you can always tell which is which.

Local services — people who can help

This is the help Help My Parents started with. Tell us what’s happening once, and we point you to independent local providers who fit — home care, transportation, meals, home maintenance, home watch, downsizing help, elder law, and more across nine categories. It’s free for families, and your arrangement is always directly with the provider you choose.

Help My Parents also offers two services of its own for families: Daily Check-In, a scheduled friendly call to your parent with an update to you, and Scam Shield, a scam-check line where you can forward a suspicious message or describe a call and get help judging it before anyone acts on it. If either sounds useful, start with a conversation — tell us about your situation and we’ll explain how they work.

Recommended for Your Parents — products families ask us about

Some of the most useful help isn’t a person at all — it’s the right product at home: a monitored alert button, a phone a parent will actually answer, a photo frame that keeps family present, rails and aids that make the bathroom safer. Our recommendations page walks through the products families ask us about, organised by what your parent is dealing with, with a short guided set of questions that matches products to your answers.

Every recommendation there is a third-party product from an independent company — separate from Help My Parents and from the local services above. We chose them on fit and usefulness; no company can pay to be listed. These recommendations currently use non-commission-earning links. We count recommendation clicks to understand what's useful. See our Privacy Policy.
