Products Families Ask Us About

A working library of the products that help a parent stay safe and independent at home — organised by the problem you're trying to solve, compared on the manufacturers' own specifications, with the limitations printed on every card.

Most families meet these products in a crisis: a fall, a surgery date, a discharge planner handing over a list. This library exists so the decision can be made calmly, in advance, with real information — what each product does, what it costs, what it cannot do, and which one fits your parent's situation.

How this library works

Affiliate partnerships

As of November 2026, two programmes have approved us: Vive Health, and Skylight (through Awin). Links to those two companies in this library are affiliate links, labelled as such under every buy button — if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every other outbound link on this site is an ordinary link and earns us nothing. If another programme approves us, we will update this section and label those links when that happens. This includes Amazon: we are not currently an Amazon Associate.

Commissions never change what is recommended here, the order products appear in, or the limitations we print. We count recommendation clicks to understand what's useful. See our Privacy Policy.

A note on powered equipment: you won't find mobility scooters, power wheelchairs, patient lifts, or powered beds in this library. Vive restricts some regulated equipment for Florida consumers; until that is clarified in writing, we have left those products out entirely rather than take an ambiguous position.

If products aren’t enough — a person can help

Everything on this page is a product a family buys and manages on their own. If what your parent really needs is a person — someone local who can be there — that is the help Help My Parents started with, and it is free for families.
